Pastor Steve has taken six (6) weeks to explain why God sent him and his family here to start this church. We've been considering our purpose (why we exist), our mission(what we're to do to fulfill our purpose),our vision (what we see as God's preferred future) and our core values (non-negotiables) which are the foundation of this church. This began in late October and will end on Sunday, December 18th. It's been inspiring!
"Catch God's Wave for Your Life!"
This four-part Sunday morning series has run from September 11th and will end on October 9th. The series was launched in conjunction with the movie SOUL SURFER as well as the correlating study guide discussed in our small groups.
SOUL SURFER is a true life inspiring story of young Bethany Hamilton who lost her arm to a 14-foot tiger shark while surfing on the coast of Hawaii October 31, 2003. Her incredible determination and tenacious faith sparked her amazing comeback to become a champion surfer. She has inspired thousands over the years. This series to help us aplly the spiritual implications of the movie...check it out.

What is the Baptism in the Holy Spirit?
Our Pastor took a brief hiatus from our Sunday morning verse-by-verse study of Pauls' letter to the Galatians to teach us about this all important topic. What is it? How do we benefit from it? Is this baptism still for today? How does a person receive it? The message was insightful and anointed and several recieved A Dose of the Holy Ghost !

small home groups)
Forgiveness– Who hasn’t struggled with it? Together, we will learn to put the past behind us and experience The Gift of Forgiveness at our next Ocean’s 12 home discussion group. This 6-week gathering met Tuesdays (except May 10) from 6:30-8:15 at the Crino’s in Westerly starting May 3rd and go until June 28th. The books will be available then for $8.
New Life - Lead by Pastor Steve, this interactive group of seekers and new believers met on Sunday nights at 6 p.m. (at the church) Pastor starts this group of periodically when there are those are still checking out Christ and His claims or for those who have recently committed to following Him in the past year. (Presently, it is on hiatus as well)
Having a great EASTER!
Enhancing Your Easter Experience – Good Friday at 6:30, we showed The Passion of the Christ here in the Sanctuary. It was part of a special time of Communion. (This movie is rated “R” because of its graphic portrayal of the sufferings of Christ). We began a 5 week Ocean’s 12 spiritual discussion group on Tuesday, March 15th, designed to heighten the wonder of the resurrection, THE central doctrine of the Christian faith. In that group, we had a special 2-part movie and went through the little book “The Case for Easter” by Lee Strobel. The book was COMPLIMENTARY and available at the gatherings. The group met on Tuesday nights (March 15th-April 19th) at 6:30 at the Nichol’s home (15 West Beach Road, Charlestown, RI). Our Pastor led this so that ALL of these events and discussion REALLY enhanced our Easter experience...it was wonderful!
How Could God Allow Suffering & Evil? – A good question everyone wrestles with. It is the topic at our new 6-week Ocean’s 12 Spiritual Discussion home group. (Call Cheri for directions at 781-367-0238) It will meet Tuesday nights from 6:30-8 starting January 18, 2011. The required study guide is available at our Welcome Center or at the group itself for just $5. (This group is primarily for mature teens and adults)
Our last 6-week DVD series by Lee Strobel, “The Case For A Creator" was very insightful and inspiring. As an atheist, Strobel set out to disprove the existence of God. Come and hear what he discovered and you will be inspired to consider your own journey of faith. (Adults and teens join in on the discussion) We met every Wednesday night at the church from 6:30-8:15. The topics and dates were as follows...
