Rev. Steve Crino
Raised in a devout Roman Catholic Italian home in Johnston, RI (1960-1973) and Coventry, RI (1973-1995), Pastor Steve strayed from the church in his teens. After 7 years of the party life and all that brought, his sense of purposeless culminated in the untimely death of several friends. God redirected his steps and caused his path to cross some dedicated Christ-followers whom he could relate to. He committed his life to Christ September 6, 1981 and had a radical inner transformation.
He began attending Gospel Temple Assembly of God (now called Lighthouse Christian Centre) in West Greenwich, RI near his hometown of Coventry. He was then involved in the youth ministry there for almost 13 years, 8 of which he served as the full time youth pastor. During that time, he obtained his credentials as an Assembly of God (A/G) minister, served as RI Sectional Youth Representaitive, met his beauitful wife Theresa and they had two of their three sons (Seth and Caleb). They moved to Springfield, Missouri in late 1995 where Steve graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Pastoral Ministries from Central Bible College. Steve and his family then moved to Seaport Community Church in Mystic, CT where he served as Assistant Pastor from 1997-2000 during which they had their third son (Ezra).
The Crinos then pastored Marshfield A/G in Marshfield, MO from 2000 to 2007. During that time he served as Sectional Treasurer as well as on the Southern MO District Church Planter’s Assessment Team.
Marshfield AG more than doubled in attendance and eventually planted a church in a neighboring community. (New Hope Chapel in Fordland, MO) Steve was invited back to Seaport Community Church now in Groton, CT and served as the Executive & Church Plant Pastor from 2008-2010. From the start of that tenure, the plan was that the Crinos would develop a team to start a new church in Southern New England. This occurred when they launched Ocean Community Christian Church, a brand new A/G church in Westerly, RI January 10, 2010.
