The Great Storyteller
(This will be a Sunday morning series at the
Westerly Middle School at 10 a.m. starting January 17th)

Nobody told stories that captured people's imaginations and hearts like Jesus did! He often used every day objects or scenarios to illustrate how the Kingdom of God operates. For an interesting and modern approach to understanding the parables of Jesus, we invite you to come and hear Pastor Steve's verse by verse explanation from the Bible. You will...

1. Understand what those stories meant to the original hearers

2. Gain insight into how to apply those principles to daily life

3. Experience the closeness of the God who dearly loves you as you put them into practice

4. Have a greater understanding of just how important YOU are to God and how much He genuinely loves you!

5. Know how to live a more significant, purposeful and satisfying life

Unless the Lord redirects Pastor Steve, here is what he will teach on and when:

  • Sunday, January 17– The Story of the Vine & The Branches – from John 15:1-8

Ocean's 12 Home Group
How could God allow Suffering & Evil?
(Our very first group began meeting at the Crino's house on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8 on January 27th)

Whether aloud or in our hearts, we have all pondered the answer to the question above. Most of us have been taught that God is good, loving and merciful. Yet, when we consider the shape of the world around us and the issues of life, that does not seem to make sense.

We do not claim to have all the answers but if you struggle with such questions and would like to gain some insight about them in a warm, friendly environment, we invite you to attend this Wednesday night home discussion group.

The questions we will discuss include...

1. Why do innocent people suffer?

2. Where did evil come from?

3. Why doesn't God do something?

4. How could a loving God send people to hell?

These things will be discussed in a small group of about 12  adults. (Teenagers are welcome to participate in the discussion) We will also provide Nursery and kids are welcome! Complimentary coffee and treats will also be available. Some of the advantages of getting together in this home group are...

1. The warm homey atmosphere

2. The open discussion where every one's ideas are valued

3. The freedom to ask questions

4. Meeting new friends on a similar journey to your own

5. FREE Coffee and treats!

  • NEW Ocean's 12 GROUP – To accommodate the growth of our home discussion group ministry, Charlie Johnson (our worship leader) will be facilitating a new Ocean’s 12 group starting this Wednesday (March 10th) here in Westerly.
